Fun fact—I’m a total bookworm, and there’s nothing better than a summer romance on the beach. One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune is one of my new favorites that is perfect for a sunny day by the water. I also never travel without my Kindle. It’s lightweight and has endless options for every genre.
Let’s be honest– no one wants to leave the beach just to charge their phone. I always pack a small portable charger to keep my battery going all day. And for the perfect vibe? A mini JBL Bluetooth speaker for a little Bob Marley in the background that’s just loud enough for your lounge chair & won’t disturb the whole beach.
Summer Beauty
When it comes to summer beauty, I like to keep things simple and fresh. I’m obsessed with Salt & Stone’s nontoxic deodorant– it actually works and smells amazing.
A great chapstick is always in my bag (I love the Goop Beauty one), and you’ll almost always find me wearing OPI’s Bubble Bath or a classic neutral polish.
You obviously need a great sunscreen and having a brush to keep in your beach bag really comes in handy.

For my beach look, you can’t go wrong with a simple black cover-up– it works with any swimsuit and instantly looks pulled together. My go-to beach bag is always a chic tote that hold everything I need and looks great heading to lunch. Of course a hat is non-negotiable for sun protection– this straw bucket hat is my latest obsession. Another thing I always pack is a pair of cute, inexpensive sunglasses. It won’t ruin your trip if they end up in the ocean, but you’ll still look great in every photo.
When I owned my boutique, I had the chance to meet with different brands and learn their stories– Aloha Collection stuck with me. They’re a woman-owned company, and all of their bags are waterproof and made for travel. I love tossing a small one in my beach bag to keep my essentials safe and dry. They’re also perfect for storing a wet swimsuit without getting everything else in your bag soaked. Plus, they come in so many cute designs and sizes!

Nomade in Tulum holds a special place in my heart because I stayed here before my destination wedding and have since returned with family. It's the perfect mix of barefoot luxury and wellness. You'll never get tired of the beachside breakfasts or full service right on the sand. I love that this area isn't overrun with big resorts- just boutique hotels and incredible restaurants all within walking distance. Surrounded by jungle and set on the most beautiful beach, Nomade is where I go to slow down and fully unwind.
Malliouhana in Anguilla is the kind of place you return to year after year. From the moment you arrive, it feels like you are a part of the Malliouhana family. I love how private it feels, like you've stumbled upon Anguilla's best kept secret. The design is a perfect reflection of the island's vibrant Caribbean charm. The beaches are truly some of the most beautiful I've ever seen. You can easily walk to nearby restaurants like Blanchard's or spend all day with full service at the beach or pool.
Dunas de Formentera is at the top of my list for a future European beach trip. If you're into laid-back, design-forward beach hotels, I think you'll be just as obsessed. It's tucked away on one of the prettiest beaches in the Balearic Islands, with soft, natural interiors and the kind of slow, effortless vibe I'm always looking for. Formentera still feels a bit under the radar, which makes it even more special. I'm already dreaming about when I'll get to see it for myself.
